(When is capitalism on the Web not a guarantee of productivity impediments?) So I have had my website hosted with wix.com
Generally they’re pretty good, but since I decided to stop paying for the site because the google Adsense refuses to get approved and because it’s too expensive at the moment, I have experienced a bummerific, craptastic Catch 22.
So for the uninitiated, when one has a domain name (mine are xeowoolfe.site, xeowoolfe.space, and xeowoolfe.xyz) at GoDaddy.com (who are pretty good) but a website with Wix.com, one must change technical settings at both Godaddy and Wix for DNS nameservers and CNAME records.
I can do that. No problem. I did it.
However: Capitalism-driven productivity impediment #10874387478 …
When I stopped using the paid Wix site and lapsesd back to the free site, they locked me out of the ability to re-assign the CNAME records back to Godaddy. So now even though I have got the correct nameservers at Godaddy, the Internet thinks that Wix has my domain. But with the free only wix site, I can’t access the domain settings page to remove Wix as the nameserver/CNAME node.So now my xeowoolfe.xyz domain name doesn’t work at all.
AND - the cost per month for Wix.com renewal has DOUBLED.
It’s somewhat mercenary, no?
(That’s rhetorical. You aren’t supposed to answer “No”, or even “Maybe not”, let alone “No, not really”.)
So for those of you trying to use xeowoolfe.xyz try xeowoolfe.site or xeowoolfe.space instead.
